Epic summer in progress.

I thought I'd share a few things that we have been up to this summer so far. I am working full time in the manufacturing department for a company that makes traffic sensors. I've worked there forever so I'm excited that this summer will be my last! Kevin is working full time for BYU online revamping a D&C class and he's taking one 3 credit class. Most days consist of waking up at the crack of dawn, spending all day at work, then I usually go to the gym and then we get home at the same time. We have some dinner, do the dishes and veg out. Our favorite veging activities are reading, watching LOST or HIMYM, going to the library, going on a run, or heading to bed early.
Last week when I was trying to go to sleep I asked Kevin to turn of the light. He replied that it was the sun coming in the window. We are that lame!
We've been doing bountiful baskets lately. We love the inexpensive produce. And we loved getting artichokes.

My husband's chest is my favorite place to be.

I was having a rough day so my sisters came down to help me feel better. And eat all my food.

More bountiful basket goodness.

I love my darling husband. Doesn't he have the cutest face?

We finished The Book of Mormon for the first time as a married couple!

Don't worry, we don't always eat fruits and veggies. We had some seriously good brownie sundaes.

This last bountiful basket was a seriously good haul.

We had the biggest, yummiest snow cone yesterday.
Yes, summertime is treating us well. :)

And so it begins

After our super fun trip to Arches last week, we have been bitten by the hiking bug again. We want to hike all the mountains all the time! Today we decided to make a trip to the Y, which has been one of our favorite hikes since we met. We invited a couple from our ward and it was a blast! Let the hiking fever begin!

From the hubby

Dear Readers,

I figured that it's about time I contribute to this blog. Since this is OUR blog. I just wanted to say that this summer has been and is going to be awesome. I hope you enjoy reading about all of our adventures. I'll make sure that my side of the stories is expressed as well. ;) But I have wonderful wife, a great job, a good place to live, and an awesome ward. (I ran out of adjectives not things to say)
Happy summer all and this won't be my last post

Yours Truly,
Kevin

Moab and Arches

This past weekend Kevin and I ditched this town and headed to Moab. We had a lot of fun and learned a lot about each other in ways we hadn't yet discovered (I think it's safe to say that I will be the one who drives the canyons from now on).
My mom and some aunts and uncles were there for the Red Rock Relay so we spent a little bit of time with them (thanks again for all the dinners mom!) and then Saturday we spent the whole day just the two of us in Arches National Park. We seriously had a blast. We hiked delicate arch, had a picnic, explored the devil's gate area and drove to all the scenic outlooks. We hiked a total of 14 miles which was insanity since we haven't hiked at all since last summer. Let's just say, we reached a point were we didn't even get out of the car to take pictures because our feet were in agonizing pain. But it was absolutely worth it! We already can't wait til our next trip together!

Musings

I miss blogging.
It's hard and awkward when we don't have Internet at our apartment.
And a lot of the time I don't really know what to say.
I get caught up in worrying about what people are thinking.
Not just about my blog but about me in general.
I thought that getting married would be a cure for self consciousness because I would have a husband to always tell me how awesome I am.
Now I'm married to a wonderful man who is always quick to compliment and slow to criticize and who always tells me how beautiful I am, but it can still be hard to see my own self worth.
After a rough night of swimsuit shopping last night I realized that any ounce of self confidence and assurance I am going to have has to come from me or else it isn't real. I have to love myself, truly and I can't rely on a husbands love for me to get me through the moments when I feel unattractive, extra chubby or awkward.
I'm lucky and blessed in so many ways. Now it's time to love myself unconditionally, the way my husband does and the way my Savior does.

Photo dump

There are a lot of pictures I wanted to share from the last couple of weeks. I am writing this blog post from Kevin's phone which means that I can't write captions on these pictures. So just know that these pictures involve eating yummy food, looking nice on sundays, grandpa's dog being crazy, a tiny game of Settlers of Cataan, making it through finals, spending time with Kevin's family to celebrate his older brother's graduation from BYU, babysitting our favorite nephew, eating Mongolian food, bowling like a fiend, eating yummy food all the days, making a summer bucket list, Kevin starting a new job, seeing Ironman 3 (on my company's dime!), going to coldstone after the temple, going on a picnic up Provo canyon, hacking Janna's Instagram while seeing Urinetown and Kevin getting a Yahtzee while playing farkle.

It that wasn't a dump, I don't know what is. Just wanted my little blog readers to know that we are happy and loving life!
