One year

Yesterday Kevin and I celebrated our first wedding anniversary.
I can hardly believe that it's been a year.
It's this weird time thing where it seems like we just barely got married, but at the same time it feels like we've been married forever and ever.
That's probably a very naive, newlywed thing to say, but that is how we both feel about this past year.

 We've had so many fun experiences together, and so many firsts. First apartment together, first time on an airplane together, first vacation together. And now a first year of marriage.

 There are just so many things that I love about Kevin, but there are also a lot of things that I love about our relationship as a whole. I love the safety that we both feel, emotionally and physically and spiritually in our marriage. I love that I can almost always assume Kevin's answer to any question, and especially that most of the time his answer is yes. I love that if something is important to me, it becomes important to him, and vice versa. We support each other fully and I appreciate that about us.

 We are definitely not perfect. We have our struggles and our miscommunications. This year has been a year of learning how to communicate in a whole new way, and learning how to reconcile two different people with different opinions. I'm grateful for the times that we've struggled or argued because it's brought us closer together and made us stronger as we've worked through the harder moments together.

 We have created this wonderful little life together. It's incredibly simple. We don't have much. But we have more than what we need, and we have each other. We love each other very much. I don't know what the future holds, but I'm so excited for it. I'm excited to watch our little family grow, and to continue to learn and change and become closer.

We have been married for one whole year. It has been the happiest of my life. I am so grateful that through the sealing covenant we made in the temple, we will be husband and wife through the eternities.
